Unlike most large cats the cheetah is not very adapted
to climbing. This forces it to rely on its incredible
speed. Cheetahs have been reported to reach speeds faster
than 100 km/h. Cheetahs are one of the more slender
cats which aids in their running ability.
Although cheetahs have been known to survive in the
wild for up to 20 years, this is rarely the case. As
the cheetah grows older it slows down which makes it
harder to find food.
Cheetahs are very good at hunting in groups and this
allows them to take down larger game such as zebras.
When hunting alone they will commonly hunt gazelle and
impalas.
